You can NEVER have to many layers

My princess Harper never ceases to amaze me with her outfits. Today, she put on her OU t-shirt, her sister's jean jacket and two of her sisters vest. When asked "Why?" She responded with "because I am cold."

A Colorful Heart

Yesterday, Harper came down with a stomach bug and today she is feeling better but we decided to stay in-just in case. I saw this fun valentine's craft project in my MOPS magazine and I thought it would be fun to try.
First you need a box of crayons or any crayons laying around will do

Next you peel the wrappers off the crayons and break them into pieces.

Oops-I forgot to get a picture of the next step: You line a muffin tin with the foil cupcake liners. Then you fill the liners with the broken crayons.

My little helpers

The girls hard at work filling the muffin tins

The article mentioned making them into the shape of a heart so I added a folded piece of foil to make them turn into the shape of a heart. I think I should have bought a heart tin but oh well, you live and learn.

After the muffin tins are full, bake them in the oven at 275 degrees for 10 minutes. Take them out of the oven and let them stand at least 30 minutes (to let them cool and let the wax harden).

A finished heart multi-colored crayon. I wish there was a way to only buy valentine's day colors to make them look prettier.

Next, peel off the foil liner

The finished project "a semi-heart shaped" multi-colored crayon

To me these look like colored Reece's peanut butter cups with a bite taken out of them.

Now that they are done, not sure what we are going to do with them. Harper tried one and they are really fun to color with.

Creativity at it's Finest

Here is another one of Harper's very own designed outfits. It's creativity at it's finest. She walked in saying "YEE HAW"

Family Fun

This past weekend, we had some great family time. On Saturday, Peter and I took the girls to a movie-we saw Tangled. This was Harper's second movie and Adeline's first. I forgot my camera and we were late to the movie so it was too dark to take a picture with my iPhone. After the movie, I even looked for a movie poster for them to take a picture next to but we couldn't find one. Both girls did extremely well. Adeline even danced in the aisles. I loved watching Adeline's expressions throughout the movie-she was too cute and so excited.
Saturday night, Peter had to work due to a Timberwolves game but I introduced the girls to one of my favorite mommy/daughter traditions--watching the Miss America Pageant. We made cookies beforehand and the girls enjoyed all of the pretty dresses-the only thing missing was my mom.
Sunday, we went to church...we have found that we like 2 different churches so we go to Sunday School at one and the church service at another. It makes for a long morning but the girls do remarkably well. After naps, we headed to a co-worker of Peter's to watch football and hang out. The girls were not on their best behavior and poor Adeline had her first real boo-boo. She was running, fell and hit her head on the corner of her coffee table. She cut the middle of her forehead-the cut is small but it bled more than expected and she has a bruise. Poor baby girl has been sporting a Dora band aid for the last 24 hours.

What HAT will you wear?

Today was HAT day in Harper's class. I love that each Thursday, Harper's teacher, has a fun theme for excitement during the long winters. Before we left for school, Harper got to choose between a tiara, cowgirl hat, her red baseball hat with a flower but she chose daddy's Timberwolves hat. When asked why, she said "because I want to and that's where my daddy works."
Of course, Adeline wanted in the picture.
I'm sorry not sure what I was thinking when I took pictures in front of the stove.

Jumping for the camera

Still gorgeous in a baseball hat...
Next week is black and white day-she might be wearing that shirt again but I'm sure we can think of something else fun and exciting for her to wear!

A BIG Project

I have my first real note card project/order. A friend of mine asked me to make 300 note cards (100 of each of the samples) for her. She is giving them away as gifts. I'm super excited but nervous too. I have approximately 3 weeks to complete all of them.
Most of the supplies-I still need to go back to Michael's for a few more things

Christmas Eve 2010

Every year on Christmas Eve, we go to Peter's parents house with his entire family-we open presents, eat wonderful food and visit. I forgot my camera this year-oops! I did take a few pictures of the girls when we got back to my parents house. I wish I would have gotten some pictures of the girls in their adorable dresses.

Pumpkin Patch 2010

Okay, so I have to admit, I have been really behind on blogging...I am trying to get all the posts in for 2010 to make a blog book (I heard about this from my friend, Carissa). The night before we moved to Minnesota, my brother (Uncle Bucka), his wife (Aunt Amy) and my parents wanted to take us to do something fun and memorable. They decided to take us to the pumpkin patch and then Chick-fil-A for dinner. We all had a blast, even though I completely broke down at the end of the night.

Harper's 1st Day of Preschool in Minnesota

We just dropped Harper off at her first day of preschool in Minnesota. I was so proud of her~so was all smiles as she walked inside. She hung up her coat and backpack, kissed us good-bye and off she went into the classroom. I was expecting a meltdown but instead Adeline threw a fit when we left. Adeline is having a hard time without Harper here, and to be honest, so am I! It's so quiet, I forgot what it's like to only have one child for a few hours. Adeline keeps walking around the apartment looking for her and saying "sissy!"-it's so sad! We can't wait to pick her up at 11:30.
Of course, my little princess wanted to wear a tutu on her 1st day!

Adeline felt left out so we let her get in a picture

Going Away Party

On September 25, our wonderful friends threw us a going-away party at Hideaway Pizza. A lot of our friends and family were able to come and it was so nice to be able to be with everyone all in one place. We were overwhelmed with all of the nice comments and the memory book that was given to us!
Our YUMMY cake!

Saying Good-Bye is so HARD to do #2

Like I said in a previous post, the last week the girls and I were in Tulsa was spent saying good-bye. One of our stops was at my friend, Jessica's house. Jessica and I worked together for 5 years at BA Public Schools. I remember when our husbands would wonder who we were talking to on the phone and laugh that we were talking to each other after we had worked together all day. We endured many problems in our workplace but in the end we would always laugh about it. I love that our kids are also friends. I know Harper misses seeing Avery. Harper, Adeline, Avery and Alexi (Lexi)

Another stop along our way was the May's. Jen and I met in Speech Pathology graduate school at TU. I think we became fast friends when we became partners when we told we had to teach an ELL class our first semester of graduate school. Also, we both had a serious addiction to Icee's from Quiktrip. Jen and I have endured many things together: the wreck, graduate school, moves across country, pregnancy/childbirth and now raising toddlers. Our kids are so close in age, which is so fun when we are together-the two oldest our 4 months apart and the two youngest are 4 months apart. We miss our wonderful play dates with the May's.

Owen, Harper, Adeline and Maddie

These two seriously love one another. I know Harper misses her Oh-No.

I love how 3 of the kids have nice smiles and then Adeline is hiding her head-this was when she thought she needed to put her head on some one's shoulder to say "cheese" for the camera.

Saying Good-Bye is so HARD to do-Part 1

The week before we left, the girls and I were on the move all over to Tulsa. We went around saying good-bye to all of our wonderful friends and family. I know there are certain people that come into your life for a purpose. There are 4 amazing friendships I have made with 4 phenomenal women. This was the last play date with all of our kids together. Some of us already have prearranged marriages for our children. Well, maybe it's me who has already chosen my girls future husbands... Harper playing with Gianna

Adeline and her boyfriend, Max. True love, right?? Their love can last 20+ years and over 700 miles apart, right?
Katy, Kinley and Harper. All of Harper's life, she has a special bond with Katy. She nicknamed her TT at a very young age and it stuck.

Good-bye 12010 S. Vine St.

On September 30, 2010, the movers came to move our stuff to Minneapolis. I had to take a few pictures of our last morning in our precious home. It still makes me sad to think about this amazing house-this is the house that we brought our girls home from the hospital and this is where we planned to raise our family but God had other more wonderful plans for us.
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
