Harper said the cutest and funniest thing yesterday. She said, "It smells HOT!" Peter and I were cracking up. We had walked outside to go to dinner and it was humid and in the 80's. All of us were a bit surprised but very much welcomed the warmer temperatures. I guess HOT has a smell to her.

Birthday Recap

This year it was a little different to not be celebrating my birthday with my parents so I decided to throw myself a pity party and invited our friends from MN to all go to the park. It was a blast and everyone was so thoughtful (one of our friends even brought yummy cupcakes for everyone and then the girls, Peter and I had them again after dinner). It's so nice to know that we have made such amazing friends here already.

Harper learned how to spell "mommy" and she was so proud

BUBBLES

All smiles

Adeline finally got the hang of it and blew some bubbles

Adeline with her friend, Rylan. They sat up there for a good 5 minutes imitating each other

The beautiful flowers from my parents

Peter had kept asking me "what do you want to do for your birthday?" I never really knew until the day of my birthday-all I wanted to do was spend the whole day outside. That morning we spent time at a park with friends and then that evening, we had a picnic at the park and played. It was everything I wanted and more.

YAY! I got a picture where Adeline is smiling and looking at the camera

My little girl who loves to pose for the camera

Adeline wasn't too thrilled to take this picture..

Thanks again Heidi for making the delicious cupcakes

Harper eating her yummy cupcake

yes, he might be mad I put this picture on the blog but I couldn't resist

Cheers and yes, I am freezing in this picture

My girls and I

Yep, the girls and I rode a tire swing. Adeline wasn't too enthused but Harper and I enjoyed spinning around and around.

Overall, turning 29 (again) wasn't so bad. I feel very blessed to have made such wonderful friends that understand me and know how much I LOVE birthdays. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with friends and family!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

For my birthday year (which will be the next post), all I wanted was to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather, together, as a family. We picked a park that was also having a HUGE 4-H meeting with kids, parents, grandparents and neighbors-it was insane and the kids were not quite big enough to keep up. I saw this hill and I thought it would be fun to show Harper how to roll down it. Needless to say, I think this was the highlight of her evening.

(These are not the best photography pictures but they capture my sweet girl having the time of her life)

I can't tell you the number of times Harper rolled down this hill. She laughed hysterically the entire time and enjoyed every minute of it, which just delights this mommy. She did however begin to itch and break out with some red spots so we gave her some benadryl. Harper has already asked when she can go back and roll.

Happy 8th Anniversary

(sorry for the poor picture quality, I had to take a picture of our wedding picture)

8 years ago today, I was so fortunate to marry the man of my dreams, the love of my life and my best friend. I can't believe it's been 8 years since we said "I Do". We had so many dreams of what our life would be like and who we would become. I never could have dreamed how wonderful it would be and how much God would abundantly bless us.

I LOVE you Peter McAdams and I look forward to 60 + more years together.

Primrose Spring Fling 2011

Late this afternoon, we went to Primrose School Spring Fling (this is the school the girls will be attending in the fall). It was a blast. They had lots of bounce houses, face painting, hair painting, animals, etc.-you name, they had it! We only stayed about an hour because a terrible storm was coming. We are so excited about sending the girls to this amazing school!

First up: Face painting

Harper asked for flowers on her face

Adeline asked for Elmo (sorry about the angle)

Loved the bounce house

Jumping high

Next came the hair painting-Harper picked green and yellow

The finished product

Adeline picked purple and pink.

After baths tonight, the water was a pink/green mixture of color.

Next the girls got their fingernails painted. Harper picked blue

Adeline getting her fingernails painted-this was the first time we had ever let her have her fingernails painted-she picked orange!

Harper wanted to pet the snake...I was so grossed out

More Tulsa fun!

These are still pictures from when we were in Tulsa a few weeks ago. One morning, we walked to the park with Grammy and Poppy (Pop-O). The girls always love going to the park!

Meeting Benjamin

A few weeks ago, our (they recently moved out) apartment neighbors, Nikki and Paul, had their 2nd little boy, Benjamin. He is absolutely adorable! The girls were in heaven when they met him and got to hold him. Adeline kept saying "hold, hold, hold" until we finally gave in and let her hold him. Both of my girls are such "little mama's".

We miss you Nikki, Paul, Luke and Benjamin.

Harper's End of the Year Program

Yesterday was Harper's end of the year school program. I only put about 25% of the pictures that I took on this blog post-I was one of those moms (sitting on the front row) taking a crazy amount of pictures and Peter videoed the whole thing. We were so surprised that Harper actually sang some of the songs this year. There were moments that she looked terrified but then she relaxed and participated.

Excited to go to school.

She didn't get it was her last day at Son Shine Corner. Harper has already asked when she can go back to school to see her friends.

Strike a pose
