Only my daughter can make urgent care FUN!

Yep, only my daughter can make urgent care FUN. Harper had a horrible cough for several weeks and the night before Thanksgiving (right after we got to Tulsa), she started crying while she was eating dinner saying her throat hurt so I took her to urgent care and in fact, she had another nasty ear infection. It was late and we were both bonkers tired from traveling all day. So, she started singing and dancing in the room...I have some of her silliness on video on my phone-she was singing A Tooty Ta-with all of the motions. After that "fun" wore off, she got a strep test and since she has a strong gag reflux they gave her the "throw up" cup. She found even more entertainment with this.

Her smily face

Her 'sad' face

*While we were in the waiting room, a little boy came with a nasty cut on his forehead. He was bleeding pretty bad and was freaking out. I couldn't watch b/c it was making me sick but Harper was staring and then she said "mommy, can we go pray for him? Someone needs to pray for him, he is hurt really bad!" Moments like those are PRICELESS!

Coasters

A few weeks ago, I dabbled in a new project. My friend, Jill, showed me some cute coasters she had made for family members for Christmas so I decided to make some too. I made them for our family for Thanksgiving to let them we know we are thankful for them. I wish I had taken more and better pictures of the finished products. If I do say so myself, they turned out GREAT! Basically, it was ceramic tiles, scrapbook paper and mod-podge. Now, I am wishing I would have made some for us. Everyday patterns

We Are Thankful For You!

For thanksgiving this year, the girls and I made some pumpkin bread for their teachers. Their notes read "We are thankful for you!" Their teachers loved it and I thought it was a nice gesture to let them know how much we appreciate what they do each and every day.

Primrose Dance Show-off (Dancercise Kids)

Peter is definitely the daddy of the year. On Thursday, Harper had a dance "show-off" for parents and/or grandparents. I couldn't cancel 2 clients so Peter went to the performance. He video taped it and took pictures. I wish I knew how to attach a video to this blog-any tips?

Waiting patiently for the next dance

Kids Say the Cutest Things

Harper said 3 funny things this morning so I am trying to document them.

1) First off, Harper asked to go eat lunch at Potbelly's (it's a sandwich shop here in MN and we all LOVE it). I told Harper "sorry honey, we can't go to Potbelly's, we don't have enough money." That probably wasn't the best thing to say but I wanted to be honest. So she and Adeline went and pulled change out of our change jar and brought it to me and said "now we can go eat, we have money!" They were so proud of themselves. It ended up only being about 30 cents but such an adorable gesture. Peter is off on Friday and he has promised to take them then.

2) Harper was still messing with the change and came running up to me with a nickel and said "mom, look at this quarter, it has sesame street on the back." Apparently, Monticello looks like Sesame Street.

3) It was time to go run errands and I said to the girls "let's go get our shoes on and go run errands." Harper responded with "mom, we are actually playing nice right now so you might want to let us stay."

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday to the BEST Daddy and the BEST Poppy in the whole wide world. We wish we could be there with you to celebrate! We love you!

She took my E-F-G's

We just returned home from a fabulous visit to Tulsa and there are many stories to share along with many fun pictures. I just couldn't wait to write this post. On Friday evening, at the McAdams annual lamb dinner, the girls were playing with their cousins (John and Charlie). Adeline had filled a container full of magnet letters. She was carrying them all over the house and even brought them to dinner. As I was finishing my HAM dinner, (yep, they make ham for special people like me who won't touch the lamb:)) I hear Adeline shriek (that is her new thing when someone takes something from her-it's loud, obnoxious but I know her shriek anywhere) and I turn to hear her say to Harper, "you took my E-F-G's" I start talking again, and I hear the shriek getting louder and Adeline scream "YOU TOOK MY E-F-G's" So I asked Adeline to come see me at the table so I could sort out the problem...she was getting really upset and she said "she took my E-F-G's"...I put 2 and 2 together and realized she meant, Harper had taken her A-B-C letters but to Adeline they were her E-F-G's. Oh, I love 2 year old minds!

Lollipop, Lollipop, Oh Lolli Lollipop!

Last weekend, I had the honor to help host a baby shower for a wonderful friend, Heidi, here in Minnesota. Heidi has 3 boys and she is now expecting a GIRL! Everyone was a little shocked at this news and several of us knew she needed a "pink" shower to help her get ready for a sweet baby girl. Three of us (Meredith, Jill and I) decided to throw her a candy shop themed shower. Jill hosted the shower at her house and made all of the beautiful cupcakes. Meredith, is a wedding planner, and she made all of the adorable signs and put the candy bar together. I made the invites.

The Lollipop Invites that I made.

It read

Lollipop, lollipop

oh, lolli, lollipop.

A baby girl is sweeter

than any candy shop

I love Heidi's reaction to this fun frilly dress

The punch glasses. We put a different question on each glass (related to being a mom, sister or your own mother) to have people answer during the shower. It was a lot of fun to hear every one's answers. My question was "what was your nickname growing up?"

The yummy punches.

Pretty in Pink and my all time favorite, Coffee Punch (thank you Carissa Miller for getting me hooked on this punch).

The yummy and beautifully decorated cupcakes. We had butter, carrot and devils food.

And the fruit was adorable too.

Harper's Table

A few months ago, we went to IKEA and I got a white table for $7.99. I had been wanting a little table to sit beside Harper's bed so I thought this would be great but it was too plain for me. I decided to use some scrapbook paper and some mod-podge to "fancy" it up a little. It's a little bright and funky but it goes well in her room and matches her comforter pretty well.

Adeline's Thanksgiving Feast at School

Yesterday was Adeline's Thanksgiving Feast at school. Once again, Peter and I are blessed with jobs that allow us to be able to attend these special events at the girls school. Adeline was so sweet and cuddly while were there for her feast. I walked in and she ran up to me and said "my mommy, my mommy, my mommy!" When Peter walked in she ran up to him and gave him a super big hug and said "my daddy, my daddy, my daddy!"

Excited to have mommy and daddy at her school

Eating like a rock star! This girl has really started to expand her eating preferences-she ate meatloaf and spaghetti at school this week and on Wednesday night, she ate 3 helpings of roast. It's about time!

*Also, not the syrup on her shirt-they had eaten waffles with syrup for breakfast at school on Thursday morning!*

Sweet cuddly Adeline

We had our parent/teacher conference with Adeline's teacher today. She is doing remarkably well in her class. We are so proud!

Harper's Thanksgiving Feast at School

Today, we had Harper's Thanksgiving feast. Peter and I were fortunate to be able to attend with Harper. We are also blessed with wonderful friends who will watch one of your kids (Thanks Heidi, for watching Adeline so we could give 100% of our attention to Harper). Harper's class did a little performance before the feast and our sweet Harper just stood there. Later, I asked her what was wrong since we knew she knew the songs and she said "I'm just shy!"

*We also had a parent/teacher conference for Harper this week. It was so fun to hear about how well she is doing in school. We are proud parents!*

"Where can I toot?"

This was just too cute and I had to share. My wonderful friend, Heidi, watched Adeline this morning so Peter and I could attend Harper's feast at school. Anyways, Harper and I went to pick up Adeline and I let them both play a few minutes with Heidi's boys. A few minutes later, Harper came walking up the stairs...and said "mommy, where can I toot?" (Let me back up a bit...we have been trying to teach Harper to walk into a bathroom if she needs to toot). So back to my story, Heidi and I were in the middle of a conversation and burst into laughter. Heidi showed Harper where the bathroom was and her sweet son, Luka, follows Harper into the bathroom and says "do you want me to close this for you?" (meaning the door). A few seconds later, in between Heidi and I's laughter, we hear Harper say "do you do this?" Just one of those cute and funny stories that I had to share-not too mention, I guess Harper is listening.

Swim Lessons

During the month of August, we enrolled the girls in swim lessons. 2 lessons a week for 4 weeks. The girls had a great time and learned a lot. Here are a few pictures-they are all out of order.

Not really sure about what was going on...

Later, she got the hang of it and loved it

So excited and ready to start her swim lessons

I had to post this picture of her teacher-she always made the strangest faces:)
