Today was Harper's first school field trip. We went to Gale Woods Farm. I wanted to devote 100% of my attention to Harper, so I asked a great friend here to watch Adeline. It was a wonderful experience despite the bitterly cold windy weather.

Harper was so excited to ride on a school bus for the 1st time

Still all smiles on the bus

So excited to be at the farm-I have to tell you that we toured another school last night and Harper was telling the director how excited she was to ride on a school bus and go to a farm.

Harper and the cows-she was laughing at how loud they were "moo-
ing"

Climbing the hay bales...you could go through the maze or climb on top-what do you think Harper chose to do?
She actually did both but I didn't get a picture of her going through the maze

Running on hay bales

So, we had an incredible opportunity today. We had gone to see the cows, climbed up a hill and when we got to the top, the tour guide said, "oh my gosh, that cow just had a baby." So we all went running back down the hill to meet this little calf that was only minutes old. I'm so very thankful the kids didn't see the birth-I'm not ready to answer those types of questions:)

Brushing a steer

The kids also got to see a dairy cow getting milked-here they are all looking at the milk-it was 2 1/2 gallons.

Petting a week old sheep

This is a piece of lamb's wool. We got to make bracelets out of it.

getting the wool wet so that it would stick to the string better

It was a great day and I think we all learned a lot!
