Adeline's 1st Birthday

Adeline turned one on April 11th, which was a Sunday this year. We spent the morning at home and then we headed out to ONEOK field to watch a Drillers baseball game. After the game, some of our family came over to celebrate Adeline's birthday (again). We ordered pizza and ate cupcakes!

To my sweet lovable Adeline:
Oh Adeline, this year has gone by far to quickly. You are changing everyday and that makes mommy so sad that you are becoming such a big girl. I miss having a baby around but I am so proud of the little lady you are becoming. You started walking on April 16th (5 days after your birthday). Mommy wanted to have you walking by your birthday but you had other plans. You are getting pretty mobile these days and you are in to everything-we have to watch your every move. You have a few words: dada, mama, milk, hello (you love to hold things up to your ear and you say "ello") and now you are trying to say doggy. You LOVE your big sister and you try to do everything she does. She laugh at anything and you love to be tickled. You have 6 teeth (4 on top and 2 on bottom). You are an incredible sleeper (about 12 to 13 hours a night) and you take at least one good nap a day. You still attend Mother's Day Out at First Methodist Early Learning Academy 3 days a week and apparently you have made quite an impact on the boys...they are always loving on you. You teachers adore you and say you are so sweet. We have noticed that you have started to like one stuffed animal (a monkey). You give incredible hugs. You are a petite little thing like your sister (18 lbs) at your 1 year check-up, which was in the 11th percentile. Adeline you have rhythm and I think you might be quite the dancer. You have become a picky eater and you are just like your sister, which makes meal times pretty interesting around here. You DO NOT like real fruit, vegetables or chicken...you will only eat these items from a baby food jar. You transitioned very well from formula to milk and you gave up bottles very well. I will attempt to take away your pacifier after our trip in May. When you are tired, you let us know by crying. You are such a happy girl but when you get mad, you get mad-you have quite the temper...hmm, I wonder where you got it? You have started communicating by screaming and some days mommy gets a real headache from all of the squealing but that's how you communicate. We will be working on getting you more words. Adeline you make each day brighter because of your sweet spirit and loving personality. I am so blessed to be your mommy. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for you!

  1. She is so stinkin' precious! Wish we could have been at the birthday party. We would MUCH rather have been celebrating with you guys than moving!
