Just Another Day

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I thought I would share with you what happened Tuesday night...It's never ending around McAdams house. WARNING: This story is not for people with weak stomachs....

So...Tuesday night, Peter takes us to dinner at Sante Fe b/c the next week or so will be insanely busy for him b/c the drillers are moving and he will be at work 24/7.

We get home from dinner, everything is running smoothly. We get the girls to bed and then I stayed up until 11:45 ish to work on the just between friends sale items that I needed to take.

I went to bed only to be woken up by Harper "oh, no there is pee in my bed." I tried to ignore her but I could still hear her wrestling around on the monitor. The next thing I know, I hear her massively throwing up and screaming. I woke up Peter and we ran upstairs to find her in a puddle of puke on the floor and it was also all in her bed. I guess there was really no pee, it was vomit! I stripped her down and gave her a bath while Peter cleaned the carpet and changed her bedding. After loving on her and telling her she was fine-we all went back to bed.

I got in bed around 12:30ish...I laid there praying to go to sleep b/c I knew this week was busy at work...still laying there and H threw up again, this time Peter was still awake so we ran back upstairs together and did the same thing...I got Harper cleaned up while Peter got all of her bedding off...then we realized, we were out of sheets for her. So we made the poor parenting choice to put her in bed with us, which we haven't done since she was tiny and now I know why.

I put all of her bedding into the wash (I will get back to this part of the story).

We all piled into our queen sized bed and Harper said "can we watch Shrek?” Peter and I both shouted "NO". It's time for bed-go to sleep!!! Peter and Harper both fell asleep quickly and start snoring so there I was again praying to go to sleep. I finally fell asleep...but I was woken up multiple times to Harper kicking me, slapping me, laying on me (b/c she was sleeping sideways).

Around 3:30 or 4:00….Harper started screaming so Peter grabbed a towel and she then proceeded to dry heave for a few minutes and then asked for milk...I mean, are you serious, child?? I think around 4:15 we all passed out.

Thank GOD for Peter's mom b/c she let Harper stay with her on Wednesday.

Oh, back to my laundry part of the story...on Wednesday morning, I opened up the washer, only to find that I had accidentally (in my sleep-deprived state) washed H's pull-up with all of her bedding-do you know what happens when you wash a pull-up?? It's awful-gel was everywhere, covering everything. I had to pull out all of the wet clothes and then scoop out the gel...I re-ran the washer empty to get rid of the rest of the gel and the I had to call my dad to see if he would put the wet stuff back into the washer to wash it again. Thanks Dad-you saved the day!

I learned 4 important lessons....1)We have such an incredible helpful family 2) a stomach virus can spread like wildfire b/c now Peter has it 3) never, ever under any circumstances let children sleep with us. 4) Never wash a pull-up!
