Thanksgiving weekend....a little late on the post

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! This year, we are so blessed to have my parents back in Tulsa. In fact, they live right around the corner. When my parents lived in Denver, they would come into town but Peter and I would host Thanskgiving. This year, my parents did it-Peter and I were thrilled to not have the responsibility-no offense, mom and dad. We did however have the responsibility of the turkey, which turned out to be a huge disaster. Apparently, the turkey we got, did not have a pop-up timer so after the maximum amount of time it was supposed to cook, we took it out of the oven. Peter sliced it but it wasn't cooked all the way. We took it to my parents house anyways....and my Paps had a brilliant idea. He said "let's smoke it on the grill." We did just that and it turned out perfect. After an enormous yummy meal at my parents, we headed to Peter's Uncle Rod and Aunt Karen's house for another wonderful feast.

Our girls in their matching Thanskgiving dresses-thanks Gramma Susan!

Family picture-it's so hard to get a good picture of all 4 of us

Peter and I have had a pretty rough 2 years. We have lost 3 incredible grandparents (Peter's Papa, my grandma Brust and my grandma Coombs). I think as I am getting older, I realize how truly blessed we are to have such incredible role models as parents and grandparents.

The girls with Peter's grandma Taylor (GG as the girls call her).

If you don't know, Harper loves to talk on the phone. She loves to talk to my Grams and Paps. Most of the time, they aren't on the phone but she loves for them to come and visit from Ardmore. This isn't the best picture of Grams but I can just see the love the girls have for her and trust me, my Grams loves and adores these two girls more than life itself.

Sweet Adeline and my Paps. I love and admire this man so much and we love having him come to visit.

We wanted to have professional pictures for our Christmas cards this year but the weather did not cooperate so we used my parents to take some pictures. As you can see, it wasn't the best afternoon to get pics of the girls. Thanks Grammy for the adorable "Santa Sparkle Baby" Christmas outfits!!!

Of course, here is sweet Adeline posing for the camera with her perfect smile!

cooperating....

Harper is no longer cooperating....

Trying to cooperate...At this point, we have bribed Harper with candy, ice cream and Sonic...

After all of the chaos and frustration to try and get a good family picture for our Christmas card, we ended up with a sad face from Harper.
